Overcoming Barriers to Creativity
The Creative Group recently published a paper on Designophy and stated that "eight out of 10 in-house designers said it's difficult to convince senior management to accept ideas that deviate from the prevailing corporate style." They suggested seven strategies for overcoming challenges and enhancing creative freedom:
- Design is not just 'window dressing.'
- Work on your soft skills.
- Educate and enlighten.
- Build your case.
- Give examples
- Avoid jargon.
- Show you're a winner.
