LSM3261 LIFE FORM AND FUNCTION

This module explores the basic relationships between life form and function of animals and plants.

"UseLess Exhibition" at the old City Hall - until 16 Dec 2007

There is a lot to learn about design from animals and plants - but also from people too.

Practitioners from different disciplines tackle everyday challenges and a lot of that has been and still is on show - consider visiting "Utterubbish"

"Utterubbish is a unique design event that presents ideas, works and exhibits by 30 leading international and local designers and creators unified in their exploration on how design can create value for individuals, society and the world, whether Social, Cultural, Emotional, Functional, Economic, Commercial or Intellectual."

"UseLess Exhibition is a multi-disciplinary exhibition collection of more than 30 international and local designers and presentations."

"Spanning 2,000 sq metres on the 4th floor of the City Hall, the exhibition covers a wide range of creative disciplines, including product, furniture, fashion, graphic, environmental design and architecture."

"Overarching themes includes sustainable design and eco-design, design activism, promotion of craft and how design can create value for self, society and the world for a sustainable future. Intended to inform and inspire, the collection of exhibits will inspire new ideas, discussions and collaborations."

This is also a chance to enjoy the lovely old City Hall - $5 entry but $3 student entry (with photo ID i.e. matric card) is available, until 16 Dec 2007: 4gth floor City Hal Building: 10am - 9pm. For details see: utterubbish.com. Unfortunately two other related and interesting exhibitions ended today (argh!)- wished I had heard about those earlier.
