If you're reading this, you must have found the Module Blogs link in IVLE. The blogs are meant for academic staff to communicate about topics and issues pertaining to specific modules.

There are several advantages to blogs, which have been covered in a recent IDEAS article. Some may still ask, "Why blog? Why not use the IVLE forum?"

While both blogs and forums have overlapping uses and functions, a blog allows academics to have a public space to air their thoughts. The potential for conversation is much greater, as any NUS user can comment on blog posts. As of now, readers outside NUS may only read (but not comment on) blog posts. Nevertheless, they can still link directly to individual blog posts and reflect on them in their own blogs.

With feed syndication, the conversation potential truly multiplies.

We encourage you to start a module blog, get some hands-on experience in blogging and discover the pedagogical possibilities of blogging.
