CIT we have more than one problem
Oh no... while helping Dr Victor Tan with using the NUS Module Blogs, he highlighted that some of his students had problems accessing the blogs from home. Dr Paul Barter's postgraduate students have also been facing
similar problems.
These seem to be an escalation of Dr Talib's
issues earlier this month.
We checked with NUS ITcare about complaints regarding access to the module blogs. Thus far, they seem limited to students not knowing that they should log in following this format:
User ID:
nusstu\NUSNETuserIDPassword:
yourpassword(Staff use
nusstf instead.)
However, Dr Barter's posts allude to more than login problems. If you or your students are facing problems accessing NUS Module Blogs from home, please email
NUS ITcare. Try to be specific. Include details about:
- the exact problem you face - cannot log in? cannot access? - give the error message if possible (copy and paste or attach a screenshot, if possible)
- the type of internet connection you have at home
- the operating system you use
- the firewall/internet security software you have installed
- the type of browser you use
- other information you think is pertinent
- whether you are using an NUS-purchased laptop/other laptop/desktop
With more information, we can troubleshoot.
CIT apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the inaccessibility of these blogs outside of the campus intranet. Do bear with us while we find out what is causing the problem. Once we can pinpoint it, we'll hopefully be able to fix it.
