The good news is: we've pinpointed the cause of the access problems. Thanks to the feedback we've received from staff and students, we now know that it is an issue with (drumroll, please):

Integrated Windows Authentication websites and NUS Laptops.

If that's Greek to you, it is to me too. I'll try to explain. The access issues occur if you meet all of the following conditions. You:
  • have a laptop which is joined to the NUS domain*, and
  • log in to your NUSNET account from outside the campus network, and
  • try to access NUS Module Blogs (or other NUS sites requiring authentication)
You'll be greeted by a Page Not Found error.

Now, for the not-so-bad news: We have two interim workarounds while we attempt to resolve this issue:
  • install NUS-Virtual Private Network (VPN) and run it when you want to access NUS Module Blogs, or
  • install and use Firefox, a free, open source web browser (in my opinion, a much better browser than Internet Explorer).
We realize thet these are not optimal solutions for various reasons. It's troublesome to install and run additional software. Also, the software powering NUS Module Blogs works better in IE than in Firefox. Hopefully, you won't need to rely on these workarounds for too long.

Hang in there, we're working on it!
