The NUS Open House was held over the weekend. Many potential students visited, sampling life and learning in NUS. What did they think?

There is probably no better way to get unsolicited, raw feedback from this particular segment than blogs. I use Technorati, a specialist blog search engine to keep tabs on what students say about IVLE. Most of the students mention it in passing. Sometimes, I come across some useful feedback and once in a while, there's effusive praise too.*

Similarly, I typed "NUS Open House" to see what buzz the weekend past generated. As with IVLE, most mention the open house in passing. Some wrote about what they liked and didn't like about it. Overall, it's a rough gauge to review what our primary target audience thought of the event and NUS.

Students and potential students say what they want on their blogs, so we should be open to what they have to say, even though it may sound very raw and harsh. If there is anything we can improve based on the feedback we receive, we should look into it and try to make things better.

* There tend to be a lot of hits some times, so I just scan through quickly. It's quite straightforward to tell if something is mentioned in passing.
