In a first for NUS Module Blogs, students of LSM1303 Animal Behaviour are posting their assignments to a student blog. They have flooded the home page with their posts, highlighting the peculiar, wondrous and sometimes human-like behaviour of our animal friends.

The students' brief is to highlight interesting content about animal behaviour in a lively manner, suitable for the person-on-the-street. This can be a challenge as the students have to get the attention of the readers without dumbing down or distorting facts.

Get wild at the LSM1303 students' blog.

Youtube and beyond: What you want to know but never knew who to ask

If you've been wondering how to create your own videos for the web, wonder no more.
Who
Kevin Lim [of theory.isthereason.com] is currently pursuing his PhD in Communication and is teaching in the Educational Technology Center at the University at Buffalo (SUNY). He studies the wide-ranging cultural affordances of technology, focusing particularly on the pedagogical aspects of social media. Being passionate about making and sharing videos, Kevin is currently challenging notions of virtuality through his modular “sousveillance” backpack. In an attempt at enhancing the usefulness of video, this unique backpack allows him to experiment with lifecasting, ambient intimacy, and video as a form of memory prosthetic (also see eyetap and wearcam).

I've been tremendously busy. Posting frequency in other module blogs has diminished too because of the exam season.

I have recently worked on the CIT website revamp. Check out the nifty widget that pulls headlines from the IDEAS newsletter! Speaking of IDEAS, a new issue will be out soon. And I will be writing the IVLE guides for the brand new version that we will launch soon.

Book on classroom blogging available in Central Library

There are a few books about blogs in NUS Libraries .
